Heat to sign free agents Granger, McRoberts
Miami signings came within minutes of each other
MIAMI – It's not LeBron or Carmelo, but the Miami Heat have hooked their first free agents of the offseason. Miami has agreed to terms with former Pacers star Danny Granger and ex- Bobcats forward Josh McRoberts.
The moves came within minutes of each other on Monday afternoon.
Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski originally reported the Granger agreeing on a two-year deal worth $4.2 million. Wojnarowski says that Granger will take the Heat's bi-annual exception and hold a players' option for the second season.
Granger is a former NBA All-Star who spent the past nine seasons in Indiana before playing 12 games with the Clippers last season.
ESPN first reported that McRoberts, who averaged 8.5 points per game and 4.8 rebounds with Charlotte last season, has agreed to a 4-year deal at the mid-level exception worth an estimated $23 million.
