PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – Only a week into the college football season, there's already a close race at the top of the standings.
Local10.com managing editor Peter Burke is tied atop the leader board with sports producer Tory McMahon after an impressive 9-1 start. Their attempt at perfection was spoiled only by Texas A&M's 52-28 victory at South Carolina.

It was the only game that stumped the entire four-team panel.
Executive sports producer David Lang is a close second. He falsely predicted Clemson to upset Georgia for a second straight year. Instead, the Bulldogs avenged their season-opening loss in 2013 with a 45-21 victory "Between the Hedges."
Sports reporter Clay Ferraro trails the group, putting a little too much faith in UCF and FIU. Both teams lost their season openers to Penn State and Bethune-Cookman, respectively.
Don't fret, Ferraro fans. He's just a game behind Lang and two back from Burke and McMahon, so anything can happen.
One game that didn't impact the standings was Florida's season opener against Idaho. The game was suspended after one play because of inclement weather, so the Gators won't officially begin their season until this weekend.
