Miami Dolphins release defensive tackle Randy Starks

Move comes as Miami expected to sign Ndamukong Suh

DAVIE, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins have released defensive tackle Randy Starks.

Starks, 31, was scheduled to make $5 million this year if he continued playing for the Dolphins.

One of Miami's best defensive players for the past seven years, Starks struggled in the second half of last season as the team failed to make the playoffs. He finished with 28 tackles and 4.5 sacks.

The move comes as the Dolphins are expected to sign defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh at some point Wednesday.

Suh played for the Detroit Lions last season.
