SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers are giving their head coach a contract extension.
The Cats and Gerard Gallant have agreed to a multi-year deal.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Gallant led the Panthers to their most successful month in franchise history in December.
The Cats went 11-3 and earned 22 points.
They tied a franchise record with a 7-game winning streak.
Gallant said, "I'm thrilled to be signing an extension with the Panthers... We want to continue to build on recent success we've had and create a winning team for years to come."
Gallant, 52, is in his second year behind the bench for the Panthers.
