SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers placed top-line center Aleksander Barkov on the injured reserve list on Sunday.
Barkov suffered a concussion on Monday, February eighth, when he was hit in the head by Justin Abdelkader of the Detroit Red Wings.

The Panthers have clearly missed Barkov, who has missed the last 3 games.
The Cats won their first game without Barkov but then lost the last two contests by a total score of 10-3.
NHL rules for the Injured Reserve List state a player placed on IR "is ineligible to compete in NHL games for a period not less than seven days."
In a coinciding move, the Panthers recalled Greg McKegg from the Portland Pirates.
The Panthers next play on Monday against the Penguins as the Cats play the third contest of a 6-game homestand.
