SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers are retiring 'Spacey in Space.'
The Panthers awarded the blue hooded sweatshirt to one player after each win.

Shawn Thornton said Tuesday that he was proud of his team for keeping the genesis of the story a mystery.
Fans were able to buy the sweatshirts with proceeds going to both the team's charity and the actor's.
The phenomenon piqued when Spacey actually showed up at a Panthers game to support the team.
Thornton said there will be a new tradition that the team will start next year.
But the mystery behind the sweatshirt is still unknown.
