Funny moment with Alonzo Mourning; NBA legend introduces himself to fan

'I played for the Heat' Mourning says to fan

MIAMI – Miami Heat legend Alonzo Mourning played a one-on-one game of Connect Four with a young boy Wednesday afternoon who didn’t know who the Hall of Fame player was.

The boy asked Mourning for his name as they played at the Learn and Play Center at Robert King High Park in Miami.

"My name is Alonzo Mourning," the former Heat center said. "Ask your mom and dad about me."

Mourning also told the boy that he played for the Heat and showed him  his 2006 championship ring.

"That was in 2006, that was probably before you were born," Mourning said.

The boy then told Mourning he was born in 2004, making him about 2 years old when Mourning earned that ring.

The exchanged ended with Mourning laughing and telling the young man it was his turn to play.
