United States Olympic swimming superstars Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte squared off Wednesday night in Rio in an event that will perhaps lead to their last Olympic finals showdown.
Both Phelps and Lochte swam in the 200m individual medley semifinals Wednesday. Phelps finished first, while Lochte finished second.
Phelps has won the event at the past three Olympics, while Lochte has twice finished second in the event.
For Lochte, it was his first individual swim in the Rio games.
Phelps and Lochte will race for the gold in the finals Thursday night.
