Dolphins defeat Falcons 17-6 in preseason dress rehearsal

Foster scores, Suh injury not considered serious

Dolphins running back Arian Foster hands the football to a young Dolphins fan after scoring a touchdown Thursday night in Orlando.

ORLANDO, Fla. ā€“ The Dolphins got a week three preseason win over the Falcons on Thursday night, 17-6, but more importantly they avoided a serious injury to Ndamukong Suh.

The defensive tackle left the game during the first half with an ankle injury, but coach Adam Gase said it was nothing serious.

This comes as welcomed news after the Dolphins saw center Mike Pouncey suffer a hip injury last week that might keep him sidelined through week 1 of the regular season.

Ryan Tannehill had an efficient showing, completing 20-29 passes for 155 yards and one interception that was tipped at the line of scrimmage.

Miami scored two touchdowns, both via the ground game.

Arian Foster scored his first preseason touchdown as a member of the Dolphins on a 2-yard score in the second quarter that broke a scoreless tie, and Damien Williams added another 2-yard score in the third quarter.Ā

The Dolphins defense, which struggled last week against Dallas, kept Matt Ryan and the Falcons out of the end zone.Ā
