Hurricanes ranked in new AP poll

Miami ranked No. 25; Florida State jumps 1 spot to No. 3

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Miami Hurricanes are back in the top 25.

After beating Florida A&M 70-3 in Saturday's season opener, the 'Canes checked in at No. 25 on Tuesday.

Miami was not ranked in the coaches' poll.

First-year head coach Mark Richt has the 'Canes ranked for the first time since November 2013.

The Hurricanes host Florida Atlantic on Saturday.

Florida State also jumped one spot to No. 3 in both polls.

Miami and Florida State meet Oct. 8 at Hard Rock Stadium.
