Dolphins leave Ajayi at home, won't play vs. Seahawks
SEATTLE, Wash. – The man who is supposed to be the future of the Miami Dolphins running game didn't even travel with the team to its first regular season game.
The Herald first reported that running back Jay Ajayi was left home in Florida and veteran Arian Foster will start for the Dolphins Sunday vs. the Seahawks.
The second year running back out of Boise State, Ajayi was expected to be the Dolphins workhouse in the backfield after Lamar Miller left Miami during the offseason.
However, Foster performance in the preseason gave him the edge heading into the season opener.
According to the Herald, Ajayi did not take the news well and teammates are looking to see how he handles the demotion.
If I'm Jay Ajayi I look at Foster's age and injury issues of last few years. And keep head up. He'll get a shot soon enough.— Will Manso (@WillManso) September 9, 2016
