PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – When all looked lost for Florida State early in the season, some fans seemed to wave the white flag. Maybe they'll think twice now that the Seminoles are returning to South Florida.

No. 10 Florida State will face sixth-ranked Michigan on Dec. 30 in the Orange Bowl at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.

The Seminoles haven't met Michigan since 1991, when top-ranked Florida State beat the third-ranked Wolverines at Michigan Stadium.

Michigan (10-2) fell out of College Football Playoff contention with a double-overtime loss to Ohio State.

Florida State (9-3), meanwhile, got off to a rocky start, losing to Louisville and North Carolina early in the season. The Seminoles have won four in a row since losing to Clemson at home in late October.

The Seminoles played at Hard Rock Stadium earlier in the season, defeating the Miami Hurricanes 20-19.
