Hurricanes to play West Virginia in Orlando

Miami heading to Russell Athletic Bowl

The Hurricanes will be looking for their ninth win of the season.

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – The Hurricanes will be staying in state for their bowl game.

Miami accepted an invitation Sunday to the Russell Athletic Bowl in Orlando.

The Hurricanes will face West Virginia on Dec. 28 at 5:30 p.m.

Miami won its first four games of the season and ended its season by winning the final four games to finish with an 8-4 record. The Hurricanes were 0-4 in October.

Mark Richt is trying to cap his first season as Hurricanes head coach with a bowl win.

The Mountaineers are 10-2 after finishing third in the Big 12 Conference standings.

Miami is 16-3 all-time against West Virginia.
