DAVIE, Fla. – If Adam Gase was fired up about clinching a playoff spot, he certainly didn't tip his hand.
Gase addressed the media on Monday and put the focus squarely on Miami's Week 17 opponent, the New England Patriots.

Gase said that if you don't focus on the Pats, they can "embarrass you."
Miami clinched their first playoff berth since 2008.
Gase said, "this is kind of what we expected. That's what you think as a coach. You don't think you'll have a sub-par year."
As for the discussion if Miami will rest starters, Gase said, "we need to do everything we can to make sure that we're 1-0 at the end of this week. Our guys are gonna get ready, we're gonna practice, and see how many guys we got healthy."
Gase said he spoke to owner Stephen Ross Sunday night to discuss the team's plan going forward this week.
Gase, "We have an opportunity to play after week 17... but we're gonna stick to the plan of not looking ahead."
Gase said there is not update on quarterback Ryan Tannehill.
Running back Jay Ayaji was "banged up for 32 carries," but is expected to be okay.
