CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Miami Hurricanes finished Mark Richt's first season ranked No. 20.

Miami moved into the top 25 in the final Associated Press poll released Tuesday after beating West Virginia in the Russell Athletic Bowl

The Hurricanes finished the season 9-4 with five straight wins.

Florida State and Florida both won their bowl games.

The Seminoles finished ranked No. 8 after a dramatic win over Michigan in the Orange Bowl, while the Gators beat Iowa in the Outback Bowl.

Clemson finished the season ranked No. 1 for the first time since the 1981 season.

Rounding out the top five are Alabama, Southern California, Washington and Oklahoma.
