MIAMI – The first Race of Champions on American soil delivered a fantastic finish in the final individual race Saturday at Marlins Park as Juan Pablo Montoya edged Tom Kristensen.

With the win Montoya captured the Champion of Champions trophy for the first time.

Montoya, who won the Indy 500 in 2015, was making his ROC debut and said of his victory, "must be beginner's luck."

The racing will continue Sunday at Marlins Park with the ROC Nations Cup, which is a Ryder Cup style America-versus-the-World format.
