Florida State will be tested late in 2017 football schedule

Seminoles face defending national champion Clemson, rival Florida in November

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State will be tested late in the 2017 football season with road trips to defending national champion Clemson and rival Florida.

The Atlantic Coast Conference announced the complete schedule Tuesday.

Florida State opens the season Sept. 2 against Alabama in Atlanta.

The Seminoles then host Louisiana-Monroe, Miami and North Carolina State in successive weekends before a Sept. 30 road trip to Wake Forest.

After an Oct. 7 open date, Florida State visits Duke for the first time since 2011. The Seminoles are 19-0 overall against Duke.

Louisville and Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Lamar Jackson come to Tallahassee on Oct. 21. The Seminoles will be looking for payback against the Cardinals, who embarrassed Florida State 63-20 in Louisville last year.

The Seminoles will also face Boston College on a Friday night for the third consecutive year when they meet Oct. 27 to finish out the month.

Florida State's home ACC schedule concludes with Syracuse on Nov. 4. The Nov. 18 game against Delaware State is sandwiched between games at Clemson and Florida.

Clemson has beaten the Seminoles each of the last two seasons. The Tigers are 6-1 against Florida State at "Death Valley" since 2003.

Florida State has won three straight games in Gainesville and four in a row against the Gators.

The Seminoles concluded the 2016 season with a 33-32 victory against Michigan in the Orange Bowl.
