Seminoles, Gators, Hurricanes all ranked in preseason coaches poll

Florida State ranked No. 3; Florida, Miami among top 20

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – Florida's big three college football teams are all ranked in the 2017 preseason coaches poll released Thursday.

Florida State is the highest ranked team at No. 3, behind top-ranked Alabama and No. 2 Ohio State.

The Seminoles open the season Sept. 2 against Alabama at the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

Florida is ranked No. 16, and Miami is No. 18 behind Louisville.

The Gators open their season Sept. 2 against No. 9 Michigan at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. It will be Florida's first non-conference regular-season game played outside of the state since 1991.

Miami open its season the same day at home against Bethune-Cookman. The Hurricanes will travel to Tallahassee two weeks later for their Atlantic Coast Conference opener against the Seminoles.

The Gators and Seminoles will conclude the regular season with a Nov. 25 game in Gainesville, where Florida State has won three in a row.

Southern California is No. 4, and defending national champion Clemson is No. 5. Penn State is No. 6, followed by Washington at No. 7, Oklahoma at No. 8, Michigan at No. 9 and Wisconsin at No. 10.

Oklahoma State is No. 11, Louisiana State is No. 12, Auburn is No. 13, Stanford is No. 14 and Georgia is No. 15. Kansas State and West Virginia are No. 19 and No. 20, respectively.

South Florida also cracked the top 25 at No. 21. Virginia Tech, Texas, Tennessee and Utah round out the top 25.
