MIAMI – FIU is heading to the Bahamas.

The Bahamas Bowl announced Sunday that FIU has been selected for the Dec. 21 game.

FIU (8-2, 6-2 Conference USA) will take on Toledo (7-5, 5-3 Mid-American Conference).

Panthers head coach Butch Davis' team tied for second in the C-USA East Division standings and was vying for its first C-USA championship before being upset by Marshall in the regular-season finale.

This is the second consecutive season that the Panthers will be playing in a bowl game. They lost to Temple in the Gasparilla Bowl last year in Davis' first season with the team.

Meanwhile, the Rockets blast off to the Bahamas having won two consecutive games and four of their last five.

The game will kick of at 12:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN.
