Heat's Waiters fined for post-game rant

DETROIT – The Miami Heat have fined guard Dion Waiters for his expletive-filed rant following a loss in Milwaukee on Tuesday, reports say.

Waiters was fined an undisclosed amount for conduct detrimental to the team.

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra says, "We fined him and we addressed it as a team."

After the Heat's 38-point loss to the Bucks, Waiters complained about his lack of playing time since returning to the team from injury. In the game, Waiters played just 12 minutes and has yet to start a game.

Waiters has been working his way back from ankle surgery, and the team has asked him to be patient.

The Heat play at Detroit on Friday.
