Gators crack top 10 in ESPN recruiting rankings

Dan Mullen looks to build championship contender in Gainesville

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Dan Mullen won the offseason in the state of Florida and did more of the same Wednesday.

Fresh off a 10-3 season that culminated with a 41-15 romp of Michigan in the Peach Bowl, the second-year Gators head coach scooped up more highly-rated recruits to Gainesville.

It was more quality than quantity for Mullen and his staff, who signed just a handful players to round out the 2019 recruiting class. Most of the class was compiled during the early signing period in December.

Mullen said his goal is to "build a program that can compete regularly for championships, and you gotta have good players to do that."

So far, so good for Florida, which is ranked ninth in ESPN's national recruiting rankings -- the best of any team in the state.

Mullen said he already has his eye toward next year's recruiting class.
