One of the biggest questions this offseason is if the Dolphins can agree on a long-term contract with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

Tagovailoa led the NFL in passing last season and is on the final year of his rookie contract.

Grier said, “When it happens it happens. We’ve communications with them. I’ll just leave those between the organizations and his representation. It’s been good. We’ll just keep working towards it. Him and his agent are very understanding that this is now the draft and he’s letting us focus on that and we’ll turn our attention to that after the draft finishes.”

Grier said Tagovailoa’s decision to work with a quarterback coach this offseason was his own decision.

Grier, “He took all the stuff on his own and told us what he was going to do. So you have to give him all the credit on that.”

As for the injury returns of pass rushers Jaelan Phillips and Bradley Chubb, Grier said there’s no timetable for when they’ll return.

Grier was also asked about a potential deal with veteran wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

Grier said “there’s nothing imminent.”
