OTTAWA, Ontario ā The Florida Panthers opened the 2024-25 campaign with a bang, first watching their first Stanley Cup Championship banner rise high into the rafters Tuesday at Amerant Bank Arena before knocking off the Boston Bruins, 6-4.
āYou would like to think you will know what your team will look like in the opening game, and you never do,ā Panthers coach Paul Maurice said. āBut we looked right, and fast, and quick.ā

Mauriceās group will now hope for continued success on the road, when the team opens a four-game, six-day road trip Thursday against the Ottawa Senators.
Ottawa will hope the signing of goaltender Linus Ullmark, acquired in a trade with the Bruins, and new head coach Travis Green, will result in a playoff push.

The Senators closed the 2023-24 season with a 37-41-4 mark, good for seventh place in the Atlantic Division.
The Tkachuk brothers, Matthew and Brady, will square off for the first time this season.
Following their stop in Ottawa, the Panthers will visit Buffalo Saturday, then Boston Monday for a special 1 p.m. ET start, before wrapping up the trip in Columbus Tuesday.
