Former Gators QB Chris Leak surrenders teaching license after sexual assault allegation

Then-Orlando football coach resigned on day police report filed

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. ā€“ A former Florida Gators quarterback did not contest allegations that he asked a student at a central Florida school to touch him inappropriately.

Chris Leak, who led the Gators to the 2006 national championship, resigned as head football coach at Edgewater High School last October.

Documents recently obtained by WFTV, the ABC affiliate in Orlando, shed some light on his sudden resignation.

According to an order filed by the Florida Education Practices Commission, Leak voluntarily surrendered his state teaching certificate amid allegations that he received a massage from a 15-year-old girl and asked her to touch his penis.

As a condition for voluntarily surrendering his certificate, Leak will never have it reinstated or be allowed to apply for a new one.

A police report details the alleged actions. According to WFTV, the report claims that Leak asked the girl to give him a massage in the athletic trainer's office. The girl told police that Leak moved her hand to touch his penis.

Leak resigned from the school the day that the police report was filed. Prosecutors didn't file charges against Leak for the incident.Ā
