CORAL GABLES, Fla. — The Miami Hurricanes have moved up again in the latest College Football Playoff rankings.

In the third edition of what will be five weekly rankings, Miami has improved to No. 13.

They jumped two spots from last week’s rankings, and three from their original ranking two weeks ago.

The top 12 teams will make the playoffs.

Miami is currently 8-2 on the season and 4-2 inside the ACC.

They are fresh off a resounding 41-7 victory over N.C. State last weekend.

The Hurricanes likely need to win out in order to get into the ACC title game and secure a spot in the playoffs.

The five highest-ranked conference champions receive automatic bids into the College Football Playoff while the next seven highest ranked teams will receive at-large bids.

Next up for the Hurricanes will be a matchup at Virginia Tech on Saturday at noon.
