Excitement builds on UM campus as Hurricanes prepare for Fiesta Bowl vs. Rebels

MIAMI — Excitement for the Fiesta Bowl on Thursday is ramping up on campus for Miami Hurricanes fans.

“It’s super exciting to be on campus during such a unique time,” said new student Graceanna Dixon. “It doesn’t happen very often -- It’s really special.”

At the center of all the Hurricanes’ energy is at the university’s book store.

Fans have flooded the store, getting everything from shirts to hats and flags.

Everyone on campus is unified in their excitement as they get ready to watch the Hurricanes take on the Ole Miss Rebels for a spot in the BCS National Championship Game.

“We’re gonna win,” said fan Daniela Velasquez. “We’re gonna bring this national championship back home where it belongs.”

Miami’s fandom has only grown since beating Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl.

“It makes me so proud of the team and everything that they done and how hard they are building,” Velasquez said.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
