Pitbull, Jordan join hunt to buy Marlins

Marlins refute report that team accepted $1.17 billion offer from Jorge Mas

MIAMI – Is it possible there is a celebrity that exists that does not want to buy the Marlins?

Derek Jeter, Jeb Bush and the Romney family were the original "stars" wanting a piece of Jeffrey Loria's ball club, but the wattage has now been turned to blast.

Reports claim the newest celebs to enter the hunt for the Marlins are none other than Michael Jordan and Mr. Worldwide himself, Pitbull.

The Miami Herald confirmed Pitbull is joining the Bush investment group which also includes Romney's son Tripp.

"Yes, he is part of the group," Pitbull spokesman Tom Muzquiz told the Herald.

The entertainer and South Florida native took to social media to build excitement for a club he hopes to be a part of.

"Let's make the Marlins and their stadium the heart of Miami," Pitbull posted to Twitter. "The same way the Orange Bowl was for me when I lived in Little Havana. Dale!"

Meanwhile, the New York Post reports Jordan has joined forces with his Jumpman brand partner, Jeter, although the greatest basketball player to ever play the game is reportedly "kicking in very little cash."

All of this comes a day after the Marlins refuted reports that Miami businessman Jorge Mas' $1.17 billion offer for the club had been accepted.
