Florida Panthers 2017-18 schedule announced

Cats to play twice versus former coach, teammates now with Vegas

SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers and the NHL announced the 2017-18 schedule on Thursday and the Cats will play twice against their former coach Gerard Gallant.

The Cats will visit the Vegas Golden Knights on December 17th for their first reunion with Gallant and former teammates Jonathan Marchessault and Reilly Smith who were acquired by Vegas in the expansion draft on Thursday night. The Golden Knights will visit Sunrise on Friday, January 19th.

Florida fired Gallant in the middle of the 2016-17 season. He was then hired by the expansion Golden Knights as their inaugural coach.

The Panthers will open the regular-season with a home-and-home series against the Tampa Bay Lightning: in Tampa on Friday, October 6th and then at home in Sunrise on Saturday, October 7th.
