MIAMI – A major internet outage affected almost the entire East Coast of the U.S.
BGR.com reported the outage was due to an issue with Amazon Web Services, the cloud services arm of Amazon which is used by major websites.
Amazon identified the issue and seemed to have fixed the issue by Tuesday afternoon.
“We’ve identified the issue as high error rates with S3 in US-EAST-1,” Amazon says on one of it's sites, adding the issue “is also impacting applications and services dependent on S3. We are actively working on remediating the issue.”
Users that were able to access the parts of the internet that were functioning flooded sites with complaints about the problems.
