LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – Just in time for summer, Walt Disney World has debuted its newest coaster experience.
Miss Adventure Falls is the name of the new family-friendly attraction at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon water park. At over two minutes in length, the ride is the longest at Typhoon Lagoon.
At the beginning of the ride, guests are taken by conveyor belt, a Disney water park first, to the top of the slide. From the top, visitors then travel down the twists and turns of the water slide, passing artifacts collected by a treasure hunting oceanographer.
Miss Adventure Falls tells the story of Captain Mary Oceaneer, the fictional hero who sailed the seven seas collecting treasures to share with the world.
The water park's new coaster is the first of many planned attractions soon to open at the Walt Disney World resort. Pandora - The World of Avatar is scheduled to open in May at Animal Kingdom.
