DUBLIN, Calif. – A 10-year-old boy was injured after flying off a waterslide on the opening day of a new California water park.
ABC News reports the boy was riding a three-story slide when he flew off and landed onto the concrete at The Wave at Emerald Glen Park.
The incident was captured on video.
The boy was hospitalized, but was later released with minor injuries.
All three of the park's waterslides were later closed upon further inspection.
Since 2010, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says 29 deaths have been reported to have occurred on amusement park rides or water slides
The park is owned by the city of Dublin, California.
