In December when announcing an ambitious array of streaming programming, the company suggested that Disney+ would regularly be home to Pixar, among other brands. Warner Bros. earlier set a release plan for 2021 that, like Disney will with āBlack Widow,ā gives viewers the choice of paying for a movie at home or on the big screen.

That was the date set for āWest Side Story,ā but Spielberg's musical will instead debut in December 2021. Given the interconnected nature of Marvel releases, the latest delay of āBlack Widowā had a domino effect on other films. Since the pandemic began, the company's āMulan,ā āHamiltonā and āArtemis Fowlā have gone direct to streaming, with āMulanā made available for a $30 premium purchase by subscribers.
