The purpose of the project is to provide a truck bypass facility and redirect truck traffic from Krome Avenue to US 1. The Homestead Police Department was issuing warnings to truck traffic violating the bypass requirement, but beginning Wednesday, Nov. 24, trucks not utilizing the bypass were issued a uniform traffic citation.

MIAMI - A stretch of Florida's Turnpike was closed in both directions Wednesday morning in Miami. The turnpike was closed between the Southwest Eighth Street exit and the Dolphin Expressway because of emergency construction. SUV overturns on Sawgrass Expressway

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – An SUV overturned on the Sawgrass Expressway westbound lanes in Coral Springs, according to the Florida Department of Transportation. Authorities blocked the two right lanes before Exit 18-A. SKY 10 was above the scene and saw Fire Rescue officials surrounding the vehicle. It's unclear whether anyone was injured.
