MOVIES— Four years after “Justice League” underwhelmed both critics and audiences, filmmaker Zack Snyder has come back to finish what he started. — Loretta Lynn’s new album is a celebration of women in country music and it features collaborations with Tanya Tucker, Carrie Underwood, Reba McEntire and Margo Price. — Katherine McPhee, of TV’s “American Idol” and “Smash,” plays an aspiring country singer, Bailey, who’s suffered career and personal setbacks in the Netflix series “Country Comfort,” debuting Friday.

Whedon, the prominent film and TV creator who faced a claim of abusive behavior on the set of Justice League, drew criticism Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021, from actors who worked with him on Buffy the Vampire Slayer including Gellar and Carpenter. Whedon didnt immediately respond to a request for comment. “While I am proud to have my name associated with Buffy Summers, I don’t want to be forever associated with the name Joss Whedon,” Gellar wrote. The company said then that “remedial action” had been taken, but did not go into specifics. Last month his character Cyborg was removed from appearing in the upcoming “Flash” film, which Carpenter said was the last straw for her.

(Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP)LOS ANGELES Actor Ray Fisher says director Joss Whedon's behavior was abusive on the set of the 2017 film Justice League.Joss Wheadons on-set treatment of the cast and crew of Justice League was gross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable, Fisher, who played the young superhero Cyborg in the DC Comics film, tweeted Wednesday. At the time of his departure, Warner Bros. said Snyder was stepping away to be with his family following the death of his 20-year-old daughter. In May, Warner Bros. announced that Snyder's long director's cut of Justice League would appear next year on the streaming service HBO Max, something fans had lobbied for since the film's original release with the hashtag ReleaseTheSnyderCut.
