New York’s highest court has agreed to hear an appeal from Harvey Weinstein over his 2020 rape conviction.

LOS ANGELES – Numerous children are being treated after a Delta Airlines flight reportedly dumped fuel on a Los Angeles-area school playground Tuesday afternoon. KABC reports Los Angeles Fire Department crews are assessing students and children at Park Avenue Elementary School in the suburb of Cudahy. Officials say 17 children and nine adults complained of minor injuries. A noxious smell could also be smelled at the school which is located about 15 miles east of Los Angeles International Airport. The Delta flight bound for Shanghai, China was returning to the airport after takeoff for an unidentified issue and began dumping fuel.

CALIMESA, California (CNN) - Multiple fires are raging in Riverside County, California, affecting over 700 acres in the area and destroying multiple buildings in a mobile home park. The largest of the three fires is the Sandalwood Fire in Calimesa, which is approximately 500 acres with 0% contained, according to the Riverside County Fire Department. Located at the intersection of Calimesa Boulevard and Sandalwood Drive, the fire is greatly affecting the Villa Calimesa Mobile Home Park. The fire went from 100 to 200 acres in about 90 minutes, before jumping to 400 about two hours later. In El Cerrito, the Eagle Fire, located at the intersection of Eagle Canyon Road and Cajalco Road is affecting 25-30 acres with no containment.

LOS ANGELES (KABC, CNN) - Emily Zamourka isn't a trained singer, but her soaring voice fills a Metro subway station to the delight of Los Angeles commuters. Zamourka told the station that she's a classically trained violinist and pianist and made a living as a street performer. Los Angeles Councilmember Joe Buscaino said that his office is working to find housing for Zamourka. He also said that she has agreed to perform on Saturday at an event hosted by the Little Italy of Los Angeles Association. Zamourka told KABC that the outpouring of support has been a miracle.

The overturned vehicle that was sitting on its roof still had a baby strapped into a car seat inside. "The only thing that saved the little kid was his car seat," Trejo told a photographer on the scene. "Everything good that has happened to me has happened as a direct result of helping someone else," Trejo told CNN affiliate KABC.

CNN Video(CNN) - A powerful 6.4 earthquake and a series of more than 170 aftershocks terrified California residents Thursday and there may be another strong quake coming soon. Trona, an unincorporated community, "sustained varying degrees of damage" but no injuries were reported, according to San Bernardino County Fire's verified Twitter account. The strongest quakes in Southern CaliforniaThe last time Southern California saw such a forceful quake was nearly 20 years ago, when the 7.1 Hector Mine quake shook the Mojave Desert. That quake struck in the early morning hours of Oct. 16, 1999, and people from Southern California to Arizona and Nevada felt the tremor. But because the quake was centered in a remote region, it caused "relatively negligible damage," the Southern California Earthquake Data Center said.
