FILE - In this May 26, 1963 file photo, Carl Reiner shows holds two Emmy statuettes presented to him as best comedy writer for the "Dick Van Dyke Show," during the annual Emmy Awards presentation in Los Angeles. Reiner, the ingenious and versatile writer, actor and director who broke through as a second banana to Sid Caesar and rose to comedys front ranks as creator of The Dick Van Dyke Show and straight man to Mel Brooks 2000 Year Old Man, has died, according to reports. It starred Van Dyke as a television comedy writer working for a demanding, eccentric boss (Reiner) and living with his wife (Mary Tyler Moore in her first major TV role) and young son in suburban New Rochelle, New York. The Van Dyke show is probably the most thrilling of my accomplishments because that was very, very personal, Reiner once said. Reiner is the father of actor-director Rob Reiner.

'Grace and Frankie' to end with Season 7

Lily Tomlin (L) and Jane Fonda in a scene from Season 5 of "Grace and Frankie" on Netflix. "We are both delighted and heartbroken that 'Grace and Frankie' will be back for its seventh, though final, season," Fonda and Tomlin said in a joint statement provided to CNN. They added that "we'll miss these two old gals, Grace and Frankie, as much as many of their fans will, but we'll still be around. Fittingly, given the Emmy-nominated series' subject matter of women being routinely overlooked, the final season will also secure "Grace and Frankie" an important footnote in Netflix history. The sixth season of "Grace and Frankie" completed production this earlier this year and won't air until January 2020.
