Florida health officials said Tuesday that they will be prioritizing the first dose of the two-dose monkeypox Jynneos vaccine until they receive more from the federal government. The doses are spaced 28 days apart.
South Florida leads the state in number of positive monkeypox cases.

Broward County remains the epicenter of the monkeypox outbreak in Florida. According to the health department, there were 70 cases reported on Tuesday and by Thursday there were 90 confirmed.
The Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade announced Thursday afternoon that it’s taking appointments for the two-dose Jynneos vaccine.
State health officials said Monday afternoon they’ve identified a second presumptive case of monkeypox in Broward County, just a day after identifying South Florida’s first presumptive case of monkeypox.
