NEW ORLEANS – Former NFL running back Joe McKnigh died Thursday afternoon in a suburb of New Orleans, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office. Police arrested Ronald Gasser, 54, for shooting McKnight several times, after he got out of his car. Col. John N. Fortunato reported detectives were investigating the homicide as a "possible road-rage incident." After playing for the University of South California, McKnight played with the New York Jets and the Kansas City Chiefs.
