81-year-old man dies in Broward crash

Florida Highway Patrol investigates fatal crash

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A man from Sunrise died in a crash in western Broward County on Saturday morning, according to Florida Highway Patrol. 

Harvey Nelson Peacock was traveling southbound on U.S. 27 near Alligator Alley, when he veered off the road on the west shoulder. 

Peacock was ejected from his 2002 Cadi DeVille when it overturned and struck a pole. FHP Sgt. Mark Wysocky said Peacock was dead when they arrived at the scene. 

Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue spokesman Mike Jachles tweeted firefighters and a rescue dog were looking for a second victim. But there weren't any others. FHP was investigating the cause of the crash.
