Fire erupts after crash on Florida's Turnpike in Cutler Bay

2 injured in rollover crash that shut down all lanes near Southwest 211th Street

CUTLER BAY, Fla. – All lanes of Florida's Turnpike were closed for several hours Wednesday near Southwest 211th Street in Cutler Bay after a dump truck crashed and caught fire.

The crash was reported around 11:30 a.m. 

A view from a traffic camera in the area showed large plumes of smoke in the air as the dump truck sat on its side.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said two people were initially trapped inside the vehicle, but they were rescued.

The victims were taken by ambulance to area hospitals.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
