Wildfire smoke affects drivers’ visibility in Broward, Collier counties

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. — Heavy smoke from a burning wildfire affected drivers’ visibility on Sunday in Broward and Collier counties.

The wildfire had been active since Saturday afternoon near Interstate 75’s mile marker 44 and had burned 400 acres, according to the Florida Forestry Service.

The fire was burning in an unpopulated stretch of the Big Cypress National Preserve.
