Florida International University police motorman injured in Miami-Dade

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A motorman with the Florida International University Police Department was hospitalized after suffering a leg injury during a crash on Friday in Miami-Dade County, according to FIU Police Chief Alexander D. Casas.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel rushed the FIUPD motorman from Hialeah Gardens to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital in an ambulance.

The crash was along U.S. Route 27, near Frontage Road. Florida Highway Patrol troopers temporarily blocked southbound traffic to make way for the ambulance.
