American Airlines cancels all Thursday flights to South Florida airports

Departing flights after noon Thursday also canceled

MIAMI – One of South Florida's largest airlines is canceling services to the area Thursday because of Hurricane Matthew.

American Airlines said all flights scheduled to arrive at Miami International Airport, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Palm Beach International Airport have been canceled.

The airline will have limited departures before noon, but all flights out of the three major South Florida airports after noon have been canceled.

American plans to resume South Florida flights Friday.

Flights to and from Jacksonville on Friday will also be canceled.
