Millions expected to travel ahead of Christmas holiday

2.4 million Americans expected to fly Friday before Christmas

MIAMI – As the Christmas holiday approaches, millions of Americans are expected to travel for the holidays.

On the Friday before Christmas, 2.4 millions Americans are expected to fly. Over the last three weeks, 45.2 millions passengers took a domestic flight.

It is believed there will be a 3.5 percent increase in travel this holiday season.

Some airports are already seeing hundreds of delayed and canceled flights, due in part to unfavorable weather conditions.

South Florida is expected to see a much warmer Christmas than the rest of the country with temperatures topping the 80s.
