Tropical Depression No. 6 forms over eastern Atlantic

Depression expected to remain over open waters of Atlantic

MIAMI – Tropical Depression No. 6 has formed over the eastern Atlantic Ocean, the National Hurricane Center announced Tuesday night.

The center of the tropical depression was about 715 miles west-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands and moving toward the northwest at 14 mph as of 11 p.m. Tuesday.

The depression is expected to remain over open waters of the Atlantic.

There were no coastal watches or warnings in effect.
