Temps to stay below 70 degrees

MIAMI – It won't exactly be a Winter Wonderland, but South Florida will finally feel the chill of a cold front.

Residents just need to be patient.

A winter blast is expected to bring record-setting cold temperatures to most of the United States next week, and the lower end of the Sunshine State will get a taste.

Forecasts project that temps are expected to dip early Friday morning, with the thermometer not even hitting 70 degrees on Saturday.

Saturday's high may only reach 69 degrees with sunny skies.

South Florida will be the best place to be as the rest of the country will face frigid conditions, with some western cities expected to get temperatures 25 degrees below normal.

But like the joy of the holiday season, South Florida's winter experience won't last very long. Temps will return to the mid-70's by a week from this Sunday.
