Triple trouble in Atlantic? National Hurricane Center monitors 3 areas

All have 40 percent chance of development within next 5 days

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – There could be a triple threat in the Atlantic Ocean.

The National Hurricane Center in Miami is monitoring three systems with a 40 percent chance of development within the next five days.

"We do have some early model runs on the first two areas," Local 10 News meteorologist Julie Durda said Wednesday.

Computer models have the first area of low pressure, located about 900 miles east of the Lesser Antilles, moving toward the Caribbean Sea.

"It's the second one we'll need to watch," Durda said.

Some computer models have it moving west-northwest toward the Bahamas.

The third system is a tropical wave off the coast of Africa.
