Cities of Miami and Miami Beach under curfew

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – The cities of Miami, Miami Beach and Coral Gables have issued their own curfews as poor weather threatens South Florida due to Hurricane Irma.

The City of Miami has ordered their curfew to begin at 7 p.m. Saturday and run through 7 a.m. Sunday.

Coral Gables has issued a curfew from 8 p.m. Saturday until 7 a.m. Sunday.

Meanwhile, the City of Miami Beach's curfew will run from 8 p.m. Saturday until 8 a.m. on Sunday.

Although Irma has shifted to the west, South Florida will experience powerful winds and possible storm surge.

Miami-Dade County has yet to announce plans for a county-wide curfew order.

Miami Beach Police are warning people to stay away from the beach. Many beachgoers ignored the warning to get a look at the heavy surf.
