Flood advisory issued for Miami-Dade, Broward counties

MIAMI – A flood advisory was issued Monday afternoon for a portion of southeast Florida, including Miami-Dade and Broward counties.

Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas is expected due to predicted excessive rainfall.

“Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent,” the National Weather Service reported.

As of 2:03 p.m., between 1 and 3 inches of rain had already fallen with an additional 1 to 3 inches of rainfall expected over the area.

The advisory is in effect until 5:15 p.m.
