COOPER CITY, Fla. — Students across South Florida braved the cold weather Monday as they headed back to school with temperatures dipping back into the 30s.
“I thought it was going to be another one of those little cold fronts, but it wasn’t,” one student outside Cooper City High School told Local 10 News.
“We tried to play pickleball (over the weekend) and, like, we died,” one student joked. “It was that bad. I wish I had gloves.”
“I saw ice on my mom’s car. It was really, really weird and cool at the same time,” another boy told Local 10. “Also on my way walking here actually, I saw an iguana on the ground.”
But students won’t have to brave the cold weather for too long as Local 10 meteorologist Julie Durda says a shift in the wind direction will bring a slow warming trend starting Tuesday and moving into mid-week.
